An amazing sight
Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
(Exodus 40:34, NIV)
This verse, taken from the end of the book of Exodus, represents a much-anticipated event in the lives of the Israelites. The last half of the book of Exodus tells the story of the planning and construction of the Tabernacle. God laid out very specific plans for the construction of the Tabernacle, the Israelites gave sacrificially to the construction effort through time and materials, and at the very end the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle as promised.
The cloud was a visible representation of God's presence among His people. Today, in a world filled with so much darkness, wouldn't it be great to see a physical manifestation of God?If we can't see the physical presence of God, perhaps followers of Christ can reflect the light of God that is present in their own lives into the darkness of this world. If you are a Christian, reflect God's love and presence in your life by loving and being present in the lives of others. Live as Christ did - to serve the needs of others.
