Galatians: A consistent message
The youth group has spent the last several weeks studying the book of Galatians. Each week we are looking at one chapter, breaking it down and finding a few key verses that capture the essence of Paul's letter to the Galatians.I am pleased that God led us to this book. He recognized that the group has been struggling to understand right from wrong, sin from God's will. The book of Galatians speaks to this in a very powerful way; by saying that getting wrapped up in the law is not God's will. The way to salvation, as pointed out in Galatians, is not by following the law but by accepting God's gift of grace given by Jesus Christ. This theme is repeated over and over again in the chapters that form Paul's letter to the Galatians. So, we've been able to state and restate this idea over and over again from a number of different perspectives. By God's grace, I believe we are all beginning to realize that the law is not the foundation of our faith, but a belief in Jesus Christ and the grace that God offers to all of us through Christ's life, death, and resurrection.A great message for all of us.
