Access to sample Korean math materials

Ever since I learned how the United States ranks when compared to other countries on international mathematics assessments, I have been interested in what those other countries are doing to generate such impressive results. So, when Education Week published an article titled Market for S. Korean Math Texts Remains Elusive for U.S. Educator, I couldn't help but take a moment to read the article.

The article chronicles the work of Professor Janice Grow-Maienza. She has been working to get South Korean math texts translated into English for use in the United States. The article points out that Prof. Grow-Maienza has posted samples of some of these materials to a Web site. I haven't had the opportunity to review the material yet. However, I was excited that this material, as well as material from other countries doing really well on these international mathematics assessments, has been made available to interested teachers here in the U.S.

You can click here to go and see the sample materials. If you go and check out what is posted, stop back here and let me know what you think.
