A belated thank you

Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for Him is a waste of time or effort.

I am so thankful to the folks at Longs Creek Community Church of the Nazarene for recognizing me during Pastor Appreciation Month. I really appreciate all of the gifts and cards that I received over the course of the last month. I am so early in my ministry it was really gratifying to be recognized by everyone.

On Halloween our church participated in a Celebration Walk. Borrowing a good idea from another church (aren't all good ideas borrowed?) we walked around the neighborhoods surrounding our church and passed out bags with information and candy. The event was, in essence, a "reverse trick-or-treat." The purpose of the event was to spread the Word, invite people to enter a relationship with our Lord and Savior, and to also invite them to check out our church. The church passed out a total of 500 bags.

I am praying that lives will be transformed as God uses the event to work in the lives of those we met. Our God is truly awesome and I want the Word to get out to as many people as possible.
